Speaking to the media, he said: “It’s one game, away from home and for teams in the Championship this is the most important game in the season. Everything can happen. I like to play the knockout games, it’s fantastic.”
On City’s recent impressive form, Guardiola believes his side should remain focused on each challenge as it comes.
“I think what you have to do is focus on what we have done and try to get better and better and better.
“Tomorrow is another competition and we want to win. After that, we play in the most beautiful competition in the world and you saw what PSG did against the best team in the world, Barcelona. They are second in the table behind Monaco so you can imagine how good they are.
“Since the Arsenal game our game is much better. In the game against Bournemouth we concede just two chances and controlled the match.”
Guardiola was adamant that, despite Huddersfield’s John Smith’s Stadium being used for rugby on Thursday night, the pitch would not be an issue.
He said: “I’ve seen the pitch and it’s not perfect but everybody can use their stadium like they want. We’re going to adapt to that, no problem.”
